Divining, also called dowsing, is an ancient art that gives the user ability to obtain information from beyond the five senses. It is a very old discipline which has many uses including finding lost articles, buried items, missing people or locating water.
It is a tool used for communicating with the higher self, guides or angels and universal energies to receive answers and information that is not readily available to us. The art of divining amplifies intuitive information, where knowledge, trust and some basic rules of practice make it a very accurate discipline.
The French called it "Sourciers" meaning the "finding of sources". Divining has also been called dowsing, dactylomancy, water witching, and rhabdomancy, to name a few.
Over 9000 years ago a rock painting was discovered in France showing a man using dowsing tools. Similarly many years ago in South America, there is a picture of a man in a cave holding a forked dowsing stick. Drawings of people divining have also been found in tombs in Egypt. The bible also refers to divining as a means to locating water and divination as a way to find information and receive guidance.
Most people are familiar with the method of locating water by a person walking through a field holding a forked stick from a fruit bearing tree, where the movement of the stick indicates the location of the water by bending or pulling down.
Important aspects in dowsing/divining are:
- The tools
- The programming
- Receiving permission
- The question
- The information/response
The tools
Some of the tools used include the pendulum, L-rods, Y-rod (nylon, or wood (whale bone was originally used)), bobber, aura meter, or even a persons hands may be used.
The programming
All dowsing is seeking for information and the mind must be focused towards this. It is a process where the dowser connects the conscious mind, the subconscious mind and the tools together with the objective so that there is agreement to a yes or no answer.
Receiving permission
It is very important that the dowser has received full permission from divine spirit to proceed to dowse so that the work is only carried out for the highest good of all concerned. That way the person or the dowser are not interfering in something that they shouldn't be.
The question
The question asked or intent must be clear and appropriate and the timing must be right. It is important that thought should be put into framing the question and that there is the appropriate level of knowledge regarding what is being asked. Is it the right question to ask as the clearer the question asked the clearer the answer received?
The information/response
The more knowledge and information the dowser has in applying the basic rules, the clearer the information or response required will be.
The response comes when the mind is in the alpha state, relaxed but alert and observant. When the question is asked by the conscious mind, it passes into the subconscious mind where higher guidance is received which is then channelled back through the subconscious. This controls the involuntary muscles which causes the tools to move giving the dowser a yes or no response to their question.
Health
Divining/dowsing can become a powerful ally to a healer in working with the subtle energies of the earth or human energy field. Where questions are asked about health of a person or place dowsing can show the imbalances in the human system (aura, chakras, and meridians) and the imbalances in the land.
These imbalances will cause 'dis-ease' in the body if left over time. Balancing the human energy field or earth energies will promote health and wellbeing.
They say 5% of the population are super dowsers/diviners and 85% of the population have the ability to dowse and to use the tools in all areas of their life.
